The final piece in a series of three, he is a culmination of a 3 month exploration into brass casting. I've always been fascinated by materials but to work in brass has been a fantasy. The entire process mined me for every bit of patience and care I had to give, for it is a demanding medium. Gaining an understanding of sculptural metalwork, all the way from sculpting in wax, to moldmaking, cleaning the sculptures, and even crafting patinas has been a truly eye-opening experience.
It is a gate way to so much more and an absolutely invaluable experience. I hope to see my future bring me back to it as much as it can.
