Basalt, iron wedges, splitters, hammers
A performative collaboration between myself and a beautiful piece of Basalt stone. To engage with a stone is to marvel at the result of centuries of life. I built a stage and built a moment to create sounds that let the basalt speak through me and watch as these vibrations move through us both.
The resulting sculpture rests at The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center in Rutland, Vermont.
